THE CIRCLE OF STEWARDSHIP
Everything begins with God.
Our planet, our world, our breath, our families, friends,
health, material possessions - all the good we have and experience
- are gifts of God.
We recognize that our precious lives are gifts from God, and
we are grateful. Celebrating God's gifts to us encourages
generosity and compels us to return our blessings to God.
As we bring our gifts and offerings to God, God blesses, transforms
and renews them, sharing them again with the world. The circle
is complete, and the cycle continues.
Stewardship is about much more than giving. The principles
illustrated in the Circle of Stewardship offer a method for
traveling on our spiritual journey. Stewardship more than
donating a certain amount of money or time or effort. Instead,
good stewardship is a way of living that helps us experience
God more completely and reflect a more complete image of God
in the world.
At St. Francis, we stand for an image of God that is true
to the orthodox tradition of merciful saints. We stand for
an image of God that gives people hope and courage to face
life's challenges, that teaches us ways of compassion, and
that fills our souls with reverence and wonder.
We do this, in part, by offering ourselves, our gifts, our
resources to God and each other. Our gifts of time, money
and abilities make possible the ministry of our faith community
that touches lives not only in Macon and Central Georgia,
but around the world.
Each of us has something to offer. Each of us can make a difference.
Each of us is welcome... to receive, to give, to live.
