STEWARDSHIP QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Following is a series of questions and answers about Stewardship at St. Francis. If you have questions that are not addressed here, contact the church office at (478)477-4616, or send your question to dan@stfrancismacon.com.

1. Why pledge?
Contributing money to sustaining and building up St. Francis Church is an act of faith and love. It's a gesture of hope in a world beset with despair. Your gifts change lives - sometimes save lives - by showing people a better picture of God. We need your pledges of support to keep this ministry alive. It doesn't matter how small the pledge may be. God blesses our loaves and fishes to work miracles. Your pledge is an act of prayer. It represents your heart. Give us your heart, and we'll fill it with the Spirit of Life and Truth.

2. How many people pledge?
More than 136 "pledge units" support the St. Francis Annual Budget for 2006 (A pledge unit (p/u) is an individual commitment of support. A p/u may represent one person or a group). At St. Francis, some pledge units for 2006 were individuals while others were families. Sometimes, different members of a household present separate pledges. Often, even children submit a pledge of their commitment to the work of St. Francis.

3. How much do people pledge?
How much one pledges is between the individual and God. Some families decide together how much to pledge. Many designate a certain percentage of the annual household income to ministry. Others pledge a particular amount per week or month. In 2006, pledges to the St. Francis budget ranged from $1 per week to $16,000 for the year, and ALL of the pledges matter. All are precious to the work of God, and each gift makes a difference.

4. How much was pledged in 2006?
The total amount pledged for the 2006 Annual Budget was $260,749.

5. What was the average amount pledged for 2006?
Taking the total amount pledged annually and dividing by the number of pledge units, we arrive at the average annual pledge for 2006... $1,917.27.

6. How many faithful pledges were committed to the 2006 Annual Budget?
A pledge of $100 per month ($1,200 per year) is considered to be a "faithful pledge." In 2006, there were 77 pledge units committing $1,200 or more for the 2006 Annual Budget.

7. How many pledge units were committed in various ranges for the 2006 budget?
     0-$1,199 - 56 pledge units.
     $1,200-$2,999 - 58 pledge units.
     $3,000-$4,999 - 13 pledge units.
     $5,000-$9,999 - 6 pledge units.
     More than $10,000 - 3 pledge units.

8. What is the proposed Budget for 2007?
After establishing Ministry Priorities for 2007 and receiving proposed budgets from each ministry team, the Finance Team created a comprehensive budget proposal based on the plans, needs and vision of the ministry programs.
The Proposed Annual Budget for 2007 is about $400,000 and is the most challenging budget ever presented to the St. Francis community. A commitment to this budget means being part of the most exciting growth and opportunity for expanded ministry in our history.
