We
would like to welcome Father Joseph Shippen as our new part-time
Interim Rector. Fr. Joseph will be with us approximately
20 hrs a week to handle our liturgical and pastoral care
needs (Eucharists, weddings, funerals, hospital visitations,
etc.) until we find a permanent rector. (The Rev. Ann Meroney,
however, will continue to officiate at our Celtic service
on Sunday evenings.)
Fr.
Joseph and his wife, Suzanne, currently live at the New
Hope House in Barnesville,
Georgia.
The New Hope House is a ministry to death row inmates and
their families. We will be “time sharing” Fr. Joseph
so that he can continue his work at the New Hope House.
Before
coming to New Hope House, he served as the Assistant Rector
at St. James' Episcopal Church in Marietta,
Georgia.
We
are very blessed and excited to have Fr. Joseph join us
for the next several months. Please join us as we
welcome him into our family!
